The band filmed the piece in New York City this past summer, when they made an appearance at the Converse "Gone To Governors" free concert series. The intro is definitely our favorite.

J Roddy Walston and The Business take on the "Play Me, I'm Yours" NYC piano exhibit
J. Roddy Walston and The Business played their way through NYC on Monday - throwing more than 25 mini-concerts at the city's most iconic locations. Manhattan has 29 spots with pianos - to be played by any passersby - as part of the summer public art project "Play Me, I'm Yours," and the band decided to take advantage.The piano adventure even got picked up by a lot of press, check out some of the highlights below!
CBS News did a nice little feature that you can watch HERE, and also check out coverage from NY 1 TV, NY Daily News, Entertainment Weekly, and Brooklyn Vegan.

School of Seven Bells Announce New Album July 13!
School of Seven Bells announces the July 13th release of their new album Disconnect from Desire, on Vagrant/Ghostly International and Full Time Hobby in Europe. In support of the release, the three-piece will play two shows at Mercury Lounge in their hometown of New York City, on June 9th and 10th.
The album, produced by band member Benjamin Curtis and mixed by Jack Joseph Puig, was recorded in the band’s home studio and mixed in Los Angeles at Ocean Way Recording. Disconnect from Desire is a tremendous leap forward for the band musically, evident in all elements of their intricate and multi-layered sound. Further, the unique experience of playing live allowed them to step out of their sometimes-insular creative process, and to discover and explore a newfound connectivity with listeners. This connection to the external world is reflected throughout the new album and indicative of the trio’s development. “From the start, we knew we wanted to make a record that connected on more of a direct and personal level than we ever had before,” says Curtis, “It's a complete account of our lives this past year, and it's crazy how taking an honest look at yourself can tell you the most about the world around you."

Vagrant Records at SXSW
Vagrant will be having an official showcase March 19 at La Zona Rosa during this year's SXSW Festival. Bands performing will be: Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Murder By Death, School of Seven Bells and J Roddy Walston and The Business. Stay tuned for set times and more!
J-Roddy Walston and The Business sign to Fairfax/Vagrant
J-Roddy Walston and The Business recently announced their signing to Fairfax/Vagrant. The as-yet-untitled album will be released this spring. The group recorded at Sound City Studios last fall with producer Kevin Augunas (Jon Brion, Cold War Kids).
"Vagrant already feels like home to us," said drummer Steve Colmus. "We can't wait for people to hear the new record, and to just get out and play the living hell out of some shows".
